The back story on my crafty nature.... It's always been there since I was a little girl. I absolutely love creating, imagining and re-purposing everyday items for my home. My inspirations ranged from magazines and blogs to HGTV! Then in 2010 a lil thang called Pinterest hit the WWW. Mind blown. It can be a girl's best friend or worst enemy depending on how you use it. Example: I have a few 1,000 or so pins under the board Food....I will never make. Truly I won't. My heart has never lyed within baking or cooking or even feeding others! Then I have my boards that have more crafts pinned to them that I could ever possibly create in a lifetime...but I'm willing to try!
So like any crafty girl that wants to do more than her own projects she branches out usually to a local craft show, so that's what I did. While I really loved doing craft shows (mainly cause I did it with my BFF), there are limitations and restrictions which I wanted to move away from. Then, the next logical step a girl should do is set up an Etsy account which I did. This also had it's cool points, but I'm not a fan of the post office. Is that weird?? I really dislike mailing stuff. The whole packaging, taping, not enough postage blah, blah, blah... (note: I do like receiving mail:) So that lasted a whopping few days, maybe a little longer.
What was a girl to do? Well this girl had a plan! Okay, not really a plan, but an idea. At a local craft show that we were hosting a table at I kept eyeing up two ladies tables that had so much life and creativity not only in their projects, but themselves! We gathered, broke bread and came up with our plan to host an occasional sale! Less than 2 months later we had our 1st Second Life Occasional Sale!
To say we were all amazed at how much of an amazing response we had would be an understatement! Could it happen again? Well, we had our next show 4 months later and yes it happened again! It not only became fun to share our love for our crafts and repurposing with others, but it really became such a fun way to connect with other women. The conversations between women who came were so uplifting and inspiring and truly just made the experience whole.
So you could say things have evolved over the past 3 years from renting table spots at some local craft shows to starting an occasional shop with three other ladies in northwest Wisconsin! And by occasional I mean it's been less occasional than not with 2 shows in a year! But that's not where this story ends, be sure to keep reading and watch for the next post as the best is yet to come!

the beginning
Beginnings are such a strange, adventurous time for me. I love mixing things up and having a fresh view of this life. With such a new beginning in sight I've decided to document it with this lil blog of mine. My hopes are that you enjoy reading this never ending story of my second life and that even for a brief moment in time it may give you a little extra warmth or smile to your face. More to come soon!
